  3. For heater codes, verify power, ground/control, and heater resistance/current to specification.
  4. For signal codes, compare sensor activity with fuel trims and commanded mixture changes.
  5. Repair exhaust leaks and mixture faults before condemning the sensor.
  6. Clear codes only after repair, then complete an appropriate drive cycle and verify the code and symptoms do not return.
